CHOCOLATE HAZELNUT ICE CREAM

You can make this homemade Chocolate Hazelnut Ice Cream in five minutes, and wait about two hours in the freezer.

My own Ferrero Rocher Chocolate Hazelnut Ice Cream recipe is a year-round winner and is great for Valentine’s. You should try it and you will certainly impress the ones you love.

In fact, I first made a children’s version of this recipe for my grandson Gui, my best Valentine, using Nesquick instead of dark cocoa, no liqueur, strawberries, or hazelnuts, and he simply loves it!

INGREDIENTS

1 can sweetened condensed milk
100 g. low fat Greek yogurt
2 tbsp dark chocolate powder (I use Hershey’s)
2 egg whites
1 tbsp Cointreau
4 sliced strawberries (optional)
2 or 3 tbsp chopped hazelnuts
Strawberries to garnish – I like them sliced in halves to look like hearts

PREPARING THE CHOCOLATE HAZELNUT ICE CREAM

Mix ingredients 1 to 5 in the blender for about 2 minutes. Add the sliced strawberries and turn off immediately, because you want to feel small pieces of strawberries in the ice cream. Add the chopped hazelnuts. Pour in mini-muffin silicone trays or in a small rectangular container – if you choose the container, you’ll slice to serve the CHOCOLATE HAZELNUT ICE CREAM – . Freeze. Garnish with strawberry halves or red berries when you serve it.
